My parents hit the 40th Anniversary milestone back in January.
A little tribute to them can be found here.
The much-anticipated Great Wolf Lodge trip finally arrived. We were all counting down the days, especially my boys, who could.not.wait to see their uncle. I wish I could have taken a picture of my little guy jumping out of the car, flying through the parking lot, and launching himself at my brother.
We packed a lot of fun into a short little weekend.
The room was great. The boys thought the Kid's Camp bunk beds were amazing, but their favorite part was "we have our own TV in our room!". Most likely because they know that will never occur in their actual bedrooms.
We squeezed in some time at Cabela's, where the boys got to pick out new life jackets for grandpa's boat.
And we spent an hour or two feeding the boys' love for video games. It is obvious who has better form for this game.
We nearly needed a crowbar to pry these two from the hoops. They were incredibly proud of setting the new high score on the basketball game, and were equally as depressed the next morning when they realized that the game resets the recorded high score every day.
Oh yeah! We went to GWL to swim! We did plenty of that as well.
But possibly the funniest part of the entire trip was experimenting with glow stick pictures. I have not laughed so hard in a very long time. The people watching us from the balconies may have been laughing even harder. I am sure the employees leaving the pool area at 10:00 p.m. wondered what kind of insane guests we were.
But, this, people.....is TALENT.
And even if it isn't, we were still pretty impressed with ourselves.
I am guessing we are also one of the few families who rearranged the hotel room to pose for a picture (or 30 pictures....but who's counting). When one member of the family lives 1,500 miles away and is only able to fly home once every couple of years, you get a little bit desperate.
I still cannot figure out how the youngest person managed to drink red pop right before the pictures were taken and no adult in the room noticed. One would think with a 5:2 ratio of adults to kids, we could probably stay on top of things like that. Instead, we have lipstick colored lips on the little tyke.
Oh well...it is how memories are made!
